Traffic signal accident closes Preston-Warren intersection

The intersection of Preston Road and Warren Parkway is closed following a single truck accident that damaged two traffic signal poles in Frisco. Emergency repair crews are headed to the scene.
At approximately 4:07 p.m., a tanker truck was southbound on Preston Road when it part of it snagged the traffic signal wire stretching across Preston at Warren Parkway and became entangled, city officials reported. As a result, the two traffic signal poles n one of each side of Preston n are damaged.
The intersection is closed for safety reasons. Northbound Preston is closed at Gaylord Parkway. Southbound Preston is closed at Prestmont Drive. Motorists should also consider using Parkwood and Ohio as alternate routes.
“Emergency crews will continue to work throughout the night to finish repairs,” said Dana Baird, City of Frisco communications director.
