11-5A GIRLS SOFTBALL: MISD teams off to strong start to district season
By DEVIN HASSON/Staff Writer
Quick look: Horn had used the bat of Taylor Bratcher to pick up a 5-3 win over Tyler Lee in its 11-5A opener last Friday. Bratcher belted a three-run home run and later added a two-run shot, providing all the offense the Jaguars would need. Jordan Bullard got the win on the mound for Horn.
Last Friday, North Mesquite’s Paige Draugh threw a one-hitter in a 13-0 district-opening victory over Tyler John Tyler
Draugh got plenty of support, as Brooke Clark, Heather Draughn, Heather Duckworth and Jordyn Tigert all had extra-base hits.
The 11-5A season was scheduled to resume on Tuesday and then take a hiatus during spring break. The teams will return to district action on Mar. 24.
