Carrollton man charged with murder of father

Published: Tuesday, September 29, 2009 6:38 PM CDT
A 21-year-old Carrollton man is in police custody after allegedly fatally stabbing his father Monday afternoon.

Sgt. John Singleton said Yassin Siyyaddh died Monday from multiple stab wounds to the torso. A call came into the police department around 4:45 p.m. Monday requesting a welfare check of a residence in the 3700 block of Elizabeth Drive.

Carrollton EMT transported Siyyaddh, reported to be in his early 50s, to Medical Center of Plano, where he later died.

Siyyaddh’s son, Mohammed, was charged with murder. A $1 million bond has been set.

Police are still investigating a motive and have not released the name of the family member who called or whether anyone else was home at the time.

" Why would anyone call the police for a welfare check? Are those guys in charge of that now? Will they be delivering foodstamps? What about pizza? Are they gonna remove those lights and put up Dominos signs? Are we gonna have to pick up our pizza at Duncan Donuts? "
