Police investigating box cutter stabbing

McKinney police are investigating a stabbing that sent one unidentified woman to a nearby hospital.
McKinney police Lt. Scott Brewer said the incident occurred at approximately 5:30 p.m. Tuesday in the 500 block of S. Tennessee Street that sent one woman to the hospital and placed another in police custody.
Investigators who spoke to witnesses at the scene said the two women got into a physical altercation at the scene when a male tried to intervene and break up the two, Brewer said.
Officers and paramedics arrived on the scene after someone called 911 to report an aggravated assault. An ambulance transported the injured woman to Medical Center of McKinney for treatment and police took the other woman into their custody for questioning, Brewer said.
Neither the victim nor the woman taken into police custody could be identified since police have not filed any official reports or charges have been filed as of Tuesday, Brewer said.
Since the parties involved could not be identified, the victim's medical condition could not be obtained from the hospital.
