Sunnyvale baseball marches on to regional quarterfinals
By DEVIN HASSON, dhasson@starlocalnews.com
It has been a long time since the Sunnyvale baseball team has suffered the taste of defeat.
After winning the 13-2A championship, the Raiders had a lengthy break due to a first-round bye in the playoffs.
But Sunnyvale showed no signs of any rust, as it swept Franklin with victories of 11-0 and 8-0 in a Class 2A best-of-3 series last week at Bullard High School.
The second game is slated for Friday at 7:30 p.m. at Mansfield, with the third game, if necessary, scheduled for 2 p.m. on Saturday at the same site.
