Sunnyvale athletes make a splash in different sports
It has been a busy week for the Sunnyvale athletic program, as several athletes shined at a number of different events.
The tennis team of juniors Asish Mathew and Abe Vohra won the consolation B bracket at the Van Tournament last Friday.
After a second-place finish at the Sunnyvale Invitational, the girls track and field team took it one step further last Thursday. Led by a meet record-setting performance by Andi Morgan in the 100 hurdles, Sunnyvale claimed the team championship at the Edgewood Tournament last Thursday.
In team plays, both the Sunnyvale boys and girls teams finished fourth at the Crandall Invitational. Norlie took third in the boys individual event while junior Lexi Clary finished first on the girls side.
