Funeral services for Jon Paul Minnick, a beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend will be held at 4 p.m. on Saturday August 4, 2011 under the direction of Cooper Sorrells Funeral Home in Bonham, TX with Ricky Kennedy and Clint Norwood officiating. Burial will follow at Willow Wild Cemetery in Bonham.
Jon Paul went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, August 1, 2012 while working and training another AT&T employee in a position that was loved and enjoyed.Jon Paul was born September 3, 1978 in Bonham, TX.
Following high school, Jon Paul worked for Schlumberger (The Pump) for a few months before entering ITT Technical Institute. He worked part time and attended ITT full time and graduated in December 1999.
Jon Paul was hired and began working for AT&T (SWBT) on January 3, 2000. Jon Paul loved his job and enjoyed talking AT&T dialog with everyone (whether they were interested or not). Jon was skilled in many facets of AT&T and was highly skilled at his job as a Systems Technician.
Jon Paul was interested and active in many hobbies and activities. He enjoyed shooting rifles and pistols, riding four wheelers (mudding), camping, computers, video games, electronics of all kinds, archery, cars, and music of all varieties (Jon Paul has over 11,000 songs on his iTunes).
Jon Paul was greatly loved and will be overwhelmingly missed by all.
He is survived by his mom and dad, James and Joy Minnick; brother, James (Bubba Minnick) and wife Sherry; sister, Jacqueline Kennedy and husband Ricky; nephews, Jason and Clint Minnick; niece, Jaime Love (Kennedy) Collins and husband Ryan, and nephew, Caleb Jordan Kennedy and fiancé Sierra; aunt Billie Jo Womack; uncle, John Womack; and cousins, Billy Partridge, Eugene Partridge, Ronnie Partridge, Lyndell Partridge, Michael Womack, John Womack, Jr., Eric Womack, and other cousins and second cousins. Jon Paul is also survived by the very many close friends he made everywhere he went. His AT&T family, a very integral part of Jon Paul's life, are also left and feeling this great time of loss.
Pallbearers will be James R. Minnick, Jason Minnick, Clint Minnick, Caleb Kennedy, Eric Womack, Michael Womack, Clifton Daniels, and Scott Rainey. Honorary pallbearers will be Steve Thurman, Robby LeFlore, Bobby Gage, Phil Buckshew, Brian Strickland, Clyde Gibbons, Donny King, Andy Addy, Ken Parten, and John Hodges. Family visitation will be at 3 p.m. on Saturday at Cooper Sorrells Funeral Home in Bonham.
A memorial scholarship account has been established at American Bank of Texas in Jon Paul's name to honor a graduating senior majoring in technology.
